I have XP Home edition on my base station and my laptop. I am trying to
create a wireless network to share files between the two pcs.
I've connected a wireless router to the base station through a wired
connection. I can communicate with the router and have setup parameters for
the wireless.
I have successfully setup and connected my laptop to the router.
After much effort of trying to connect the two computers together, it
'seemed' that running the Create a Small Network for home on both computers
solved the problem. I was able to create a shared drive on both computers
and access one from the other in both directions.
However, after turning both computers off and back on, I can no longer
access a shared folder from either computer. It looks like the drives are
there but I get the message that I not allowed access to the folder when I
click on them. I have turned off Firewall on both computers. Both computers
still connect to the router.
Can someone advise on what to look for?
Why is this so difficult?
Thanks
