I use a Dell laptop and I was able to use wireless LAN in my university's
library. But yesterday when I want to connect to the same network, problem
occurred that prevented me from working properly. The icon in the system
tray showed that the signal is strong and is of high quality, and Intel
PROset could find the appropriate LAN connection and indicated that it had
made proper connection to the LAN. Strangely, however, I could not visit any
website or BBS in the local network that should have been accessible once
correct connection is established. Log on to the Internet via the terminal
software we use also failed. But it just reported that the signal was OK.
I didn't remember I had made any relevant change to the computer which may
result in this failure to connect. My "wired" LAN uses a 802.1x protocol so
that services->wireless zero configuration must be disactivated. HOWEVER,
neither disactivating nor reactivating this service enabled me to access any
website. Is there anyone who can help me? Thanks very much in advance!
