Wireless connection issues!

My computer is set as the central for our home network. I have the modem and
the router which are connected okay. My sisters laptop has Windows vista and
is picking up the signal and connects to it, but when I try to pull up
Internet Explorer it says that we are not connected. I tried just about
everything i can think of. Please help!!!!! All the repairs did nothing. I
even tried to connect the laptop with the ethernet cables directly and still
could not get on-line.... The other day it worked for a few hours but the
internet on my regular computer was not working. I can't seem to get them
both on the internet at the same time and its driving me crazy.. I know its
not the router and it seems like theres a few people having connection
problems with windows vista.. Please HELP.....

I can't figure out what you mean when you say your computer is the
"central" for your home network.

In any case, you should be letting the router provide for the multiple
connections you want.

you have not supplied enough info. Have to been trying to set up a wireless
network or what?
Plug both the computers into the router with their own seperate ethernet
cables

Well my computer is hooked to the modem and router, but i cant get my sisters
laptop to connect wirelessly. She has windows vista and i think thats what's
wrong. My PSP can catch the wireless signal from the router and connect to
the internet. Her laptop says its connected and when i try to use Internet
explorer, it says that were not connected. I'm not sure what other info is
needed so just ask away.. Im not that great with computers obviously...=P
HELP! If you have any suggestions.

Yes im tring to set up a wireless network for my home. That was written in my
subject. What other info do you need. I tried plugging my sisters laptop in
through the ethernet cables just to see if she was able to get online
directly but that still didnt get her connected to the internet either, but I
want it wireless. What other info do you need? just ask , Im lost now. Dont
know what to do anymore.

Have you set your router to accept the MAC address of your sisters computer?

We always set up routers to accept IP address's seperately and the user MAC
Address e.g Computer 1, IP 192.168.2.2 MAC 00 00 00 00 00, Computer 2, IP
Address 192.168.2.3 MAC 00 AA 00 AA 00 AA etc.

Enter your router GUI and see how it is set up.

If I can help further please ask

Regards
Stuart
