The icon for my wireless connection has disappeared from "Network
Connections" in Control Panel and also in the taskbar. It does not show in
Device Manager either. I have Win XP SP2 preinstalled.

Sorry about the lack of information. I don't really know. The computer is a
HP Pavillion laptop that belongs to my son who's away at college. He emailed
me about the problem and I was just trying to get him an answer. What are the
options depending on the type of card? TIA.

Would really be hard to help someone being third party!!!

Can't you have him post here?

Does it have a physical card inside computer or is it atteached thru USB port?

it is a laptop. ok.

can you give exact model #?

It came with the computer and no external usb connection is required. The

Thank you for all your help. I looked at the links you provided and think I
found the answer. It looks like the drivers will have to be reinstalled using
the recovery disk or system restore. Thanks again.
