Wireless activity indicator icon?

Is there freeware for wireless Internet networking to display an
icon that indicates when upload/download activity is taking place (like
the two-monitors icon in the system tray that flashes back and forth when
a Windows DUN connection is sending or receving data)? The wireless
control software I've seen installs an icon that indicates signal strength
by changing color, but does not show when the connection is moving data.
