WinXP will not support modem.

In installing a new Windows XP upgrade to my wife’s desk top I’ve been give
the notice:
Setup has found her modem (Intel (R) 536EP V.92 is incompatible with
Windows XP. I proceeded with the installing and found her AOL 7.0 could not
locate the modem.
I went to the Device manager and did not find the Modem listed.
Is there any way around this problem short of installing a new modem? Or
removing XP and going back to Windows 98?
 
Go to the modem manufacturers website and see if there is a Windows XP
driver.
Otherwise you may need to get another modem.
Modems are cheap and you should easily be able to get one for under $20 US,
half that if you look.
