WinXP Spam folder is always empty

Windows XP Pro SP3+ Auto updates.

Hello:
Since the last automatic updates for winXP Pro were downloaded from
Microsoft, my Spam folder is always empty. Not that I mind, mind you :).

I like stuff to work properly, so I tried to fix it. I installed the WinXp
disk and did an outlook.exe /restorefolders but that did not seem to work.
Default permissions are set to "user", and the usual read/ write etc.

Does anyone have any idea how I make the Spam folder function properly?

Thanks

Windows XP does not have a spam folder.
That would be a function of a third party anti spam program coupled with
your mail client.

Niether does Outlook have a Spam Folder, depending on Version it may have a
Junk Mail folder

you mean the "Junk E-mail" folder in outlook?
if so, in outlook in box, right click on an email, preferably junk mail,
choose junk mail option, make sure the junk mail option is turned on, at
least at the low level.

and if I you are confident that the low level junk mail filter will never
delete the wrong email, you can even check the "permanently delete junk
email"
I would advise against that.

Thanks everyone:
Sometimes as an MCSE I think my technical expertise is near perfect, and
then I get humbled by a stupid error.

I am running Cloudmark anti-spam for Outlook 2002, and the program created a
folder called Spam. Naturally I though it was a Microsoft folder and it kept
sitting there with nothing in it. Going into the Cloudmark options I had set
the spam option to delete the found spam rather than placing them into the
Spam folder. Doh!

Sorry for bothering everyone.

A crow-eating techie

Thanks everyons for your help. I am one humbled MCSE.

I have running Cloudmark anti-spam for Win XP/pro forever, and the program
created a Spam folder in the My Folders in Outlook. Naturally I thought this
was a default Outlook folder (first mistake) and it was pulling my hair out
figuring out why it was always empty. Going into Cloudmark options, I saw I
had set one of the options to delete all spam instead of placing it into the
Spam folder. Doh!

I will eat bread and water for 3 days as penance.
