WinXP SP1a Problems

T

TOM

I have just installed the latest WinXP SP1a updates to my
computer (running Win XP Pro) and restarted (per
instructions).
Now I am unable to use any of my USB devices (e.g.
3.5"floppy, optical mouse). Prior to the updates, my
laptop used to pick these devices up as soon as I plugged
them into the USB ports.

Is there a fix for this problem?

Thank you.

I think if you run windows updates there is an update for this under windows
xp called:

Recommended Update for Windows XP SP1 (KB822603) Download size: 341 KB, < 1
minute
This update addresses the "Availability of the Windows XP SP1 USB 1.1 and
2.0 Update" issue in Windows XP and is discussed in Microsoft Knowledge Base
(KB) Article 822603. Download now to install the Windows XP SP1 USB 1.1 and
2.0 update.

THanks, Nik.
I tried the update you indicated but unfortunately the
problem persists...any other ideas?

I managed to make the problem go away by reinstalling the
USB drivers.
Thanks again for your help, NIK.
