WinXP Pro Retail - Without SP1?

Hi Adam,
Xp version does not come with the sp1 that is an update
you will have to do once it is installed. When you buy
the new xp it will not have it till you do that yourself.

Not true. All recent retail copies and most OEM issued in the last 5
months or so include SP-1. My retail copy of Home has SP-1 already
included and my Toshiba copy (for my notebook) likewise includes SP-1.

Not so. New XP has SP1 included. But some older stock on the shelves may not
include it. You can't tell by looking at the package; it does not state if
SP1 is included.

That's true. Although the CD is clearly marked "Includes SP-1". But
of course you can't break the seal on the package to look at the CD
before purchasing.
