WinXP Pro rebooting

My Computer keeps rebooting whenever I insert a CD. There are no error
messages displayed, it just reboots normally. I checked the error logs to see
if I could find anything unusual. The only message log that is created is
from the Service Control Manager, and it reads " The logical Disk Manager
Administrative Service entered the running state." The very next entry is
"The Event Log has started."
Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Disable automatic restart on system failure (on SP2): Press F8 on restart,
and see the menu item to disable auto restart. Restart, and when the STOP
message appears, record information needed for further troubleshooting.

The problem turned out to be a defective drive....but!!! I installed the
drive in a box running XP Home, and it worked with no problems! I then
installed an exact new drive (same model and firmware) in the XP Pro box and
the problem disappeared. It is now working fine again! HMMMMMM?????
