Visit http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/index.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs
and type in your Dell Service Tag Number and you'll be able to download the correct
video adapter drivers designed for your specific model Dell computer.

After installing a fresh set of drivers, right-click on your
desktop and select Properties > Settings, change the Color
Quality to "Highest (32 bit), then adjust your Screen Resolution
to your liking, then click on Apply.

Also, you should turn on and fine tune ClearType:

Click on: "ClearType tuner updated" to begin the process.

I did as you recommended and after the first restart, the resolution was
correct. Unfortunatley, the next day I bootet Windows, the resolution
was resetted again!?
Maybe you got another clue what I can try.

Have Cleartype installed now. Can hardly see any difference to before.
I'll try another configuration. :)
