WinXP : Lost option to "Sort by Name" upon the Start menu

N

news.microsoft.com

Hello,

I've encountered a strange situation - I've lost the option to sort the
Program entries within my Start -> Programs menu. However this only happens
for the Administator account, other users are fine, so I'm suspecting a
registry key issue. I noted one Microsoft Advisory (Q177482) that suggested
deleting the Order Value keys found under:

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\MenuOrder\Start
Menu\Programs

however this didn't have any effect.

I did however recently download IE7 onto my PC. Could this have been the
cause of the problem ?

Any suggestions/solutions ?
