Is there an utility/program that I can run on my XP Home PC which will
save all my drivers in a folder e.g. My Documents/Drivers.
I have just updated all my hardware drivers and so would like to have
them all in one place should I need them again. That way I can choose
update driver and just choose one directory/folder.

Also...is there an utility that will scan my system at the moment and
save all the necessary drivers in a folder of my choosing?
Thanks

Here's what I do: Each time I download a driver, I simply save it in a
folder called Drivers. Since driver files typically have numerical names, I
include a text file where I identify each file name.

I don't worry about Windows' internal drivers, since they're part of the
operating system.

This is what you`re looking for. Back them up to something other than your
OS drive. If that drive went, of course, you`d lose them all <g>.

Try installing NTBackup from the XP CD and run a System State backup, this
backs up drivers. You could include the WINDOWS\system32\drivers folder
incase you wanted to restore specific drivers.

The System State backup also has the advantage of copying your registry
hives to WINDOWS\repair\RegBack which is rather useful if the registry gets
hosed :-)

Can't vouch for either of these, since I've never used them, but they
purport to do what you're looking for.

Driver Collector 1.2

WinDriversBackup Personal Edition
(last freeware version of currently commercial program):

If you're backing up 3rd party drivers you've installed yourself, I'd
take Ted Zieglar's advice and collect them manually. Better to use the
installable versions than to try and extract them from the OS afterward.

That's not free. Neither is MyDrivers from Huntersoft. Is there a driver
backup program that is freeware?

Nevermind. I thought I read the entire thread but there are more replies.
Sorry.
