WinXP Boot Installation Problem

Hi,
I am facing a problem with WinXP Pro SP2 installation Boot Disk....
when I boot the PC with boot disk I am able to see the boot sequence
getting started and i get the messages saying something like "System
reading the current hardware in PC" and it hangs there for ever ....
that is i dont even get the blue screen.

I have standard hardware configuration ( AMD Athlon 64 + MSI VIA
Chipset + 1 GB DDR + 40 GB HDD). I have a TV card on PCI Slot, can
this be a problem? I have no peripheral devices connected at boot time.
Would the OS installation give error message other than hangnig if
there is any mismatch with hardware requirement?

I have tried booting with my friend's XP boot disk( which works on
his PC), I get the same result that is it hangs at "analyzing the
hardware" stage. I infer that there might be some incompatability with
my hardware and the operating system.

I have tired booting with old Windows 2000 installation boot disk
and it works fine!!!!! It is only the win XP disk that gives this
trouble. is there any major difference in installation approach for win
2k and win Xp?

In addition to Windows I also have Linux (Fedora core 3) and it works
absolutely fine. And I have a dual boot with GRUB on the boot sector.
Can this be the issue?

Is there anything that I can do to make win XP disc bootable?

Try removing the TV card.
