WinXP and Quicktime

Probably due to something I installed (I actually think that it was a
Windows Update....) I now get a dialog box upon bootup saying that
qttask.exe cannot be found. It asks whether I want to cancel or
continue. Cancelling allows the boot-up process to complete.

Can someone explain to me how I can get rid of this message? I've found
that qttask is part of Quicktime, but I don't see where it's trying to
load from upon start-up.

I'm using WinXp Pro (SP1). Any help would be appreciated.

check the folder startup( should be in program files) and if quicktime or
anything related to it is in there delete it :)

First, see if it is in your Start menu among all the stuff... Then goto
Control Panel Add/remove Programs and see if it is in there.
Then look in msconfig, startup items listed as qttask.exe and uncheck it and
the message will stop (and Quicktime will not be useable) Try to re-install
it if you wanna use it....There are Quicktime alternatives available......

Another example of a manufacturer who auto-starts their
program for absolutely no good reason . . .
