QuickTime 7.1 QTL file problem

Hello, all. After considerable Googling I still cannot resolve a .qtl
file problem with QuickTime 7.1 on a WinXP platform. I have a .qtl file
as follows:

<?xml version="1.0"?>
<?quicktime type="application/x-quicktime-media-link"?>
<embed src="http://172.25.10.2/cfg/myfile.sdp" />

This file connects to an http server at the IP address indicated,
requests a username/PW and then proceeds to transfer the .sdp (streaming
video session description protocol) file to the QuickTime client. This
process works with QuickTime 6.x but not with QuickTime 7.1. It will
only work with 7.1 when the .sdp file is on the same platform as the
..qtl file and QuickTime 7.1 client. Can anyone shed some light on my
problem? Thanks for your time and comment. Sincerely,

Have you checked with Apple / QuickTime tech support?
