"How to determine whether a computer is running a 32-bit version or a
64-bit version of the Windows operating system" http://support.microsoft.com/kb/827218
And to add to the answers you've already gotten, there's no such thing
as "bit NT." Windows XP is a marketing name, and under the hood what
it is is Windows NT, version 5.1.
Click start>Right-click My Computer>Properties>General.
If you are using 64bit, it will be written there under Operating System.
If no "bit" mention, you are using 32bit.
