x64 -> 32bit

I only use 3 or 4 64 bit progs, and so having so many driver issues is
simply not worth putting up with 64 bit windows. I would like to
"downgrade" back to a 32 bit OS. Is the registry based in 64 bits on
x64? I would like to just restore a saved registry file once I get my
32bit os back up, so my prog settings and preferences are intact. I
can clean the reg afterwards, and get rid of the broken links/etc that
pointed to my 64 bit progs. Just looking for some advice. Thanks

do believe it will require a complete fresh install of 32 bit os

what kind of driver issues, a lot of driver problems are being resolved due to 64 bit vista.
only one I have is my modem, but have cable so do not need it.

Driver issues, well everything was fine, then my ethernet drivers
(nfroce4 ethernet), video drivers (catalyst) were a bit buggy, and my
capture card has been sitting around for about a year, becuase there
is not x64 support.

Why not dual boot? Windows XP for the video capture card, and Vista 64 bit
for when you want to run your 64 bit programs. It is what I am doing.

don't know about the Ethernet but maybe a newer card might fix that.
for the catalyst, have you tried ati unless the card is too old for updated drivers.
capture card again, maybe its time for a newer one.
suggest newer but I have not a clue as to how old the ones you have are.

Well my m/b is an asus a8n sli deluxe, with latest nforce4 drivers.
Yes, I have tried ati's catalyst drivers, my card is an 850xt, so its
not too old at all. Capture card is an ati tv wonder, and I dont feel
like dropping another 65 or so on another capture card that actually
works on x64. oh well

Well that's how I started with x64, then i moved completely onto it. I
thought about, repartitioned, reinstalled xp, and I'm back dual
booting. Works decently
