Has anyone come across the following - and knows of a
solution?

On opening Word via any route, i.e. from start menu or
opening a Word document in Outlook etc, the computer
freezes. On pressing control/alt/delete, the normal box
doesn't come up - but a white box stating 'Your computer
is dangerously low in resources!' and asking if I'd like
to close down Word. On choosing 'yes', the computer is
still frozen and the same message appearing. The only way
of closing the computer down is via the power button.

I have virus scanned using McAfee, I have uninstalled Word
and then re-installed it. Still no difference. All other
programs are working as normal.

My operating system is Windows Me. My computer a Toshiba
Satelite laptop.

Any suggestions very welcome!

This sounds like an operating system problem. I have
limited experience with ME, however I know it has some
serious issues, (Thats why it didn't last long on the
market). Perhaps the Microsoft knowlegebase site for ME
would help you.

Wes - you were right! All sorted - thank you very much.
Headache over!
