WinUpdates

I have Windows updates ("WinUpdates") set to notify me of updates but to not
automatically download and install the updates. However I constantly have an
update icon in my taskbar, next to the clock on my desktop.even after I
click on "cancel".

Right now, the update is for me to download MS Internet Explorer 7. I use
Mozilla Firefox as my browser. It looks as though that Microsoft wants to
force Internet Explorer 7 on me.

Anyhow, how delete the upgrade notice AFTER I have chosen to upgrade or not.

Thank you,

Barry Karas

PS I use Wincdows XP Pro w/ SP2.

I do all my updates manually, and if I uncheck IE7, there is an option
to "not show this update again", however, MS will "remind" you
everytime you start the manual update site that you have unchecked it.
A real pain in the butt if you ask me. :/ Also, I checked for more
updates tonight, just for something to do and the only one listed was
IE7... again. :/ I rechecked the don't show me again option... again.
We'll see if Windows can remember this setting next "update Tuesday".
