WinTV hanging up XP

I just put in a new WinTV GO, works for a bit, then picture freezes,
audio continues. If I try to close it, things go back and XP ends up
unresponsive and, in the end, won't shut down. I need to hit reset
button, then on restart, everythings ok, WinTV stars up again, but in
a while freezes and then it's the same all over again.
I have P4 @ 3.0 Ghz, Hyperthreading, two 512MB DDR in dual channel,
dual SATA in RAID0, Intel PERL865 mobo, ATI video card, XP Pro SP1.
Any help? Haven't tried latest drivers from Hauppauge yet.
BTW, it seems there's alot of 3rd party sw for Hauppauge tvs, any good
links?

Considering that millions of people use WinTV GO hardware with no
complaints, this must be the result of a software or hardware conflict
on your box. Without laying hands on it and putting it on a bench, it
is nigh close to impossible to give a definitive answer.

So my answer: take your system to a real computer store (not a Best
Buy or Circuit City type place) and let the techs there look it over.
It'll cost more, but you'll have a better box in the end.

Well, I do know a little more than the techs at Best Buy. Turns out to
be hyperthreading. The WinTV works fine with hyperthreading disabled.
Same problem, reported on various newsgroups, steered me away from
ATI. Didn't find any such reports before I bought WinTV, though. Went
into BIOS, disabled hyperthreading and no problems.

Personally I'd prefer hyperthreading my CPU over recording and
watching TV on my computer. To each their own, I guess.
