I have a corrupt winsock file and can not figure out how
to repair it. Can anyone help?

Hi Michele,

First, update your antivirus software and run a full system scan. Trouble
with the winsock file may be caused by a virus (but not necessarily so). If
it's clear, you can expand a new winsock.dll file. Start/run msconfig, on
the general tab, click on "expand file".

File to expand: winsock.dll
From: X:\I386
To: %windir%\system32

"X" represents your CD drive letter, change it accordingly. You will need
your WinXP CD, or substitute the location of the I386 folder on your hard
drive. Reboot when finished.
