wins

Should wins be using in AD 2003? In our old NT 4 (which now consist together
with trust to our AD) we have two servers acting wins, dns and dhcp. In AD I
had only installed dns with hope that wins will not be used. But now I had
read that exchange 2003 needs wins so i'm confused. Should wins also be used
in AD, both for the clients and servers? What are Microsoft recommendation?
If wins should be in AD, is it good to replicate from the old wins servers??

AD doesn't need WINS but you probably have applications/services that rely
on WINS.
Without knowing your environment it's hard to tell if you can cope without
WINS so I suggest that you try to simulate your environment in a lab.
I would be surprised if you don't need WINS, I haven't personally seen an
environment that didn't have apps that needed it.
