Winload Error

I have two IDE drivers with XP on one drive and am trying to install Build
5728 on the second drive.
The install goes all the way through until the final reboot and then I get
an error that says winload.exe is either missing or corrupt. I tried the
Repair option but it didn't help. I looked on TechNet and Google and see
that others have this problem but no one listed a solution other than to try
Repair which, as I said, I've already tried. I had no problem with 5600 at
all. Is there something elst I can try other than Repair? TIA

Did you verify the MD5 hash before burning? If yes, then can you swap IDE
cables out in case one is up the proverbial? It *might* be an I/O data
issue with a bad IDE cable. It only takes one byte out of place for
disaster to strike.
