VistaBootPro with Vista and Win7

The free version of VistaBootPro 3.3.0 works with Win7. The
only requirement is that Win7 must be the boot OS. It doesn't
matter in what order the OSs are installed. If you boot the Vista
drive and select Win7 in the boot menu you get an error because
Vista's bootmgr tries to load the winload.exe file in Win7's system32
folder, and it's seen as a corrupted Vista file. If you boot the Win7
drive and select Vista, Win7 recognizes the Vista winload file and
Vista boots normally.

That's pretty much normal for any Win-OS. The older version's boot files
cannot load a newer version as they lack the programming necessary, only the
reverse.

One only has to boot from the Win7 DVD and repair the bootmgr.
I have done it and I can boot with Vista or Win7 as the default.
