Hi,

When I press the windows key together with "E", instead
of a windows explorer window, I get an error message
stating "the parameter is incorrect".

This is Windows XP Professional.
The problem started when I got a virus - but I have
completely removed the virus since.

It would be handy if there was a registry entry that
controlled what happened when you press this shortcut key
(I can't find one) - does anyone know how this is
handled, and why it now doesn't work?

Thanks.

Right click the Windows Explorer Icon, then click properties.
Highlite the Shortcut Key window and hit the letter E key.
You should see Ctrl - Alt - E.
this is the default Shortcut to Windows Explorer.

When I hit the Windows key and E on my machine, I go to My Computer.
Must be a difference in machines.

I'm referring to the built-in windows key + E
functionality - on my machine this does not display my
computer/explorer or any other window!
Instead it displays an error message: "The Parameter is
Incorrect"

Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this, and/or if this
functionality can be edited via the registry?
I have a feeling that the virus that I have since cleaned
from my machine somehow edited the functionality of
winkey+E, so I'm hoping I can edit it back to the
original!

I'd really appreciate some help here!
Thanks.
