WindowsXP (MediaCenter Edition) & APC BackUPS 725 ES - how to befriend?

I successfully connected the UPS to my desktop via USB port and now
it's recognized as a "Battery", just as if it was a laptop. However, on
a laptop, I have an option to set up "power alerts" to shut the box
down if there's too little juice left -- but the "Alerts" tab won't
show up in Power Options here.

I tried to go through the UPS tab, but it only offers COM-port
connected UPSes, and not the USB ones...

How do I configure the alerts feature and auto-shutdown?

Download and install the software available from the support
web site of the manufacturer of your UPS device.
