Hi, I recently formatted my hard-drive because of viruses and other isses.
All went well and I installed windows no problem. Then when i had logged in
it came up with '30 Days left for activation'. So i clicked on it, typed in
my code on the side of my PC, which i know is genuine, and it said it has
already been used. The only time it has been used before is when installing
windows for the first time, before i formatted my hard-drive, is there anyway
of making it so that i can activate it without having to fork out money to
buy a product I already have?? I only have 28 days left now so can you please
reply quickly, thanks!

Hi

Contact MS by 'phone. There should be an option to find the 'phone number
on the Activation page.

I'm afraid you'll have to activate by telephone.

Some time ago, Microsoft disabled the CDs/Product Keys from most
major OEMs, such as Dell, from activating via the Internet. This was in
response to the large number of the branded OEM CDs being illegally
(without the computer) resold via eBay, computer fairs, etc.
