The 7B error indicates that there is a critical device that is missing (or
has been disabled) from your configuration. Did you run tap.exe on your
target machine to generate your PMQ?

This issue has been mentioned quite a number of times in the past- see the
following link in google groups:
http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=...a=group=microsoft.public.windowsxp.embedded.*

Hope this helps,

One thing I have found is that tap.exe sometimes brings
in the wrong "Disk Drive" component. There are actually
three of these components in the component database. If
you look in the advanced properties of these components,
you will find that one is LEXARUSB, one is GenDisk, and
one is a Fujitsu optical drive. Make sure you are using
the "Disk Drive" component that has "GenDisk" as it's
cmiPnpDevId.

To check these properties, right click on the component
in the component database pane, choose Properties, then
click the advanced button. If you already have the
component in your build, select the component and click
the advanced button in the far right pane of target
designer.

HTH,
Tony
