I wonder if anybody could help me please,

I have just reinstalled windows xp, I have been having a lot of trouble
installing software and now I have found I cannot view the property of
folders though I can for single files.
I am logged on as administrator but it seems I do not have administrators
rights.

Thank you

Tim

Thanks for the reply.

I have just uninstalled Norton internet security and everything is fine now,
can't understand it, it's be working fine for years. maybe time to wipe and
start again, again.

Thank you

Tim

Right-click is slow or weird behavior caused by context menu handlers

Right-click is extremely slow only when Network is enabled

May I also interject here that before you wipe and start again, you
make sure you have SP2 on CD if it is not part of you Windows XP disk
and all the patches and hotfixes released since SP2, and the latest
update and definition file for Norton Internet Security. Do not allow
your system to even look out the window let alone connect to the
internet without SP2, fully patched Win XP, and a current fully
function anti-virus program, installed and running, and perform a scan
before connecting. The latest malware only require connection to the
internet to infest. Nothing is tastier than an un-batch system. Not
only that, but usually you get half way through the configuration
process and things stop working, like folder properties and the system
starts to bog down and respond slowly...
