Windows XP x64 Hardware?

I've a Dell Inspiron 6400 notebook with a Mobile Intel 945PM Chipset and a
Core 2 Duo T5500 @ 1.66GHz processor having 1 GB RAM & 120GB Hard Drive. Can
I install and run Windows XP x64 & also maybe Widows Vista 64? My graphics is
128MB ATi Mobility Radeon X1300. I know that Intel Core 2 Duo T5500 supports
Intel 64(EM64T) but the picture is not so clear about the Intel 945PM Mobile
chipset. Also please let me know if I need to update my BIOS to run 64 bit
OS? (Current Version is A10 of DELL).
Thanks in advance.
(I tried Dell customer support but they gave me conflicting answers).

Try posting at alt.sys.pc-clone.dell. There are some very
knowledgeable Dell users, techs, etc., located there.

Thanks once again to both of you.

It might be found as a Usenet site in the Newsgroup folder of your local
ISP.

Thank you and your most welcome..

If you want open the Dell support link below, indicate/select Windows XP,
Windows XP x64, Windows Vista x64 in separate IE windows or IE tabs if using
IE7 to compare all three.. You should notice that for both XP versions, the
BIOS & chipset updates are the same, a good clue.. Vista x64 seems to need a
different chipset update, though the BIOS update is also indicated as A13, so
go figure..

The above works on supported Windows 32 bit versions only, it can check your
laptops compatibility if you have not yet updated to a Windows x64 version..

Might also look into the above link, your call..
Cheers
