Windows XP wont keep DST change

Please help. I have 3 workstations with Windows XP contected to 2 different
domain controllers that refuse to keep the DST time change. I have installed
and uninstalled the patch. I have manually changed time. No matter what they
go back to the previous time. The other 25 workstations that connect to these
domain controllers do not have this problem. Any help would be appreciated.

What patch (KB######) in particular?
No matter what they go back to the previous time.

Install *both* updates:

1. "Update for Windows XP (KB931836)"

Umm, does the time stay an hour behind, or go an hour ahead? Does the
time on the server show the correct time? do you have NTP server and
clients setup (syncs with server's time and will overwrite any changes
you make manually)? If you manually changed the time of the Windows
server that is acting as an NTP server as well, and then installed the
patch on the Windows XP machines with NTP client setup, then it is
taking the base time from the server and adding an hour to it for
DST. The problem with this is, if you manually set the time from i.e.
9:00am to 10:00am, then the client will look and see 10:00am as the
base time and add an hour so it would say 11:00am. If the time is an
hour early, then the server's time is probably 2 hours early if you
have the patch installed, or 1 hour early if you don't have the
correct patch instaled. Remember, that no matter how many times you
change the time settngs, it will automatically sync it's time with the
ntp server if you have this setup.

Neither - nor. Note that I'm *not* the original poster!

Yeah, I did, however, I respond in the news group. So all I did was
reply to the question at hand (that appeared to be asked). If nobody
wants help, fine by me. I don't know how to look at a post and
determine if it is a post that has been continued, or if it is a new
post.

If you reply to the OP, simply reply to his/her posting.

Nope. You were replying to my post and this didn't make a whole lot of
sense.

If you do not know how to handle your awful web interface, use a news-
reader instead! You may want to read: "Using an NNTP Newsreader"

I will look into this. Thanks for the advice. In the web interface,
it showed the post I replied to as the original post. Sorry for the
mishap.

No problem, that's okay.

Computers on a domain automatically update their time to match the server.
Did you install the DST server patch?
