windows xp wont install

just built my first athlon 64 system with a Abit kn8 sli mobo, boots up
fine but in the first stages of loading windows setup files, it just stops
loading. Since this is my first 64 system is there something i need to know
thati;m not aware of ? Thanks

Try running a memory test to make sure that your RAM is fine. Memtest86
is a good free one. http://www.memtest86.com/

Start by checking the RAM. Get a hold of a memtest boot disk.
