Windows XP Wont Boot

R

Ralph Carlson

Yesterday Windows was running fine. I was notified that
new udates were ready to install. They appeared to be
security updates and I ran them last night. They
installed and the system was fine when I shut it down.
Today it stalls at boot (black screen). System restore
back to before the updates makes no difference. I can run
in safe mode. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions?
Thanks.

There must be a virus going around since a lot of people
can't boot on the 27th. I have a firewall and antivirus
programs yet it's getting through. What is the common
factor?
