windows xp wont boot with new intel m/b

hey I was curious if any of you can help. I have tried
four diff motherboards now then intel 865PERT(2 of those
and the intel 875(2 of those). I get a blue screen of
death with all these boards on startup. it says windows
cannot startup and must be shut down. cant even get in
with safe mode. heres the wierd thing. when I have both
IDE's plugged in it gives me the error but it boots
reallllllly slow. when I unplug the secondary IDE it
boots much much faster but still same prob. heres my
computer specs below...please help!!!! I know all my
connections and hardware stuff is right!!

p4 2.53 Ghz w/533 FSB
Geforce 4 Ti4600 w/128 mb RAM
Audigy 2
primary IDE: maxtor 40gb and Maxtor 60 Gb
secondary IDE: I/O MAGIC CD-RW 52X24X52, IOMEGA ZIP 100
no floppy drive

Pick ONE board do a repair install so it will recognize the new Hardware.
You MUST do this every time you change MB's so make up your mind and stick
to it.

thx for the replies guys....I had changed motherboards
before without any problems so I guess I got lucky!!

The title implies that you have changed the motherboard from a different
type. If you do that, you must start off with a 'repair' reinstallation
of XP so that the underlying interfaces to the hardware are correctly
matched up. Set the BIOS to boot CD before Hard disk, then boot the XP
CD, start Setup (do not take 'Repair' at this stage), then after the
license agreement take 'Repair Installation'. This will retain your
existing software installations and most settings. But Updates will
have to be run again, especially SP1; and if you have drivers that only
arrived with that, like USB 2 ones, you will need to update drivers for
the devices concerned. You may find that things like virtual memory
settings and some aspects of appearance have reverted to defaults
