Windows XP vs. Windows 2002

For all intents and purposes, yet. If you right click on My Computer and
view properties, it actually calls the OS Microsoft Windows XP Professional
Version 2002.
 
No. There is no such product as Windows 2002. There is

Windows XP Home and Professional
Windows Server 2003.

Office XP is NOT known as Office 2002. The components of Office XP DO have
2002 at the end e.g. Word 2002, Excel 2002, but the suite is known as Office
XP.

All boxes in which Windows XP is sold say 'Version 2002'. As does
Control Panel - System, under the System item on the General page
