Hi, my windows xp validation key was on my computer in the form of a sticker. I tore that off and threw it out and now I have no idea what the code is. The manufacturer of my computer told me to contact microsoft

Does anyone know what I can do to get a new cd key or does anyone know a way to contact microsoft

Thank you.

If the CD Key (not validation key) was stuck on the PC, it is OEM and the
manufacturer is the only place you can get the key. If hey are not willing
to help, you may be out of luck!

If it was on a sticker on your PC, then it was an OEM version of Windows,
for which Microsoft does not offer support. The support is the
responsibility of the PC maker that shipped the system with the OEM version.
If your system is still under warranty then you should contact the PC
maker's support.

But, if your computer is still operational you can download and use the
utility ViewKeyXP to retrieve it from your hard drive:

Then write down the key if you should need it again.
