Windows XP Update

I have installed Windows XP prof. on my PC. and from long time I am regulary
updating it.

If in case I have to format the PC then installed windows will be again of
that OLD version without all hte updates which I have installed during long
period of time.

Is there any way, that I have all the updates ready for my PC when I
reinstall Windows.

What is the location in windows where all updates are saved. So that I can
take backup of these updates and install themafter reinstalling windows,

Or I have to download updates again ?

You may want to look into creating a custom XP install disk with the
updates. Look at the two following sites for information and a good
'slipstreaming' tool.

Good Luck

P.S.
You may have to download the updates one more time.
