Windows XP Update for C3Media

Can someone tell me why after I installed the suggested updates from
Microsoft that my computer will shut down and I have to reboot at least 3
times before Windows will load? If this is what Microsoft offers....well

You should only use drivers from the manufacturers website and only then if
you have a problem or the update offers an enhancement you want. MS make
available generic drivers on their update site I gues for those who cannot
find them anywhere else. Although as you have found out they are not without
there problems.
