windows xp startup

How do i know when Windows xp has completed its startup?
There is no indication on the screen. I find that if i
don't wait until it has completed finished, i can't log on
to my ISP.

disregard this question. I'm in the wrong group. I posted
the same question in the "Performance and Maintenance"
