Windows XP Start Up - Won't Start!

I have now tried "Last Known Good Configuration" and that doesn't work
either. Should I now consider installing the Windows Recovery Console as
described

I am posting this problem again in case anybody who has not seen it before
can offer other ideas that may help me to resolve it?

If you have tried all of those options, and none work, you will have to try
a 'Repair' install of XP. Please have a look at the following article by
Michael Stevens:

"How to Perform a Windows XP Repair Install"

I tried using the Windows XP CD to do the Repair installation. Got a far as
Step 6 but after Windows copied the files, I got the following message. I
have tried using the CD again, and rebooting in Safe Mode/Last Known Good
Cofigration but keep getting the following blue screen.
I have not tried to disable BIOS caching or memory as I am a bit reluctant
to start this given that I am not a technical PC person (i'm using a Dell
4100)

Help. Is there any other procedure I can try before calling in the experts????

By the way, if I did try to do a fresh install of Windows, what would be the
overall impact, as opposted to trying to do a repair? eg would all other
programmes etc such as printers, scanners, music players etc need to be
reinstalled?

By fresh install, I'm guessign your going to reformat it. The overall impact
will be that you will loose everything that was previously on your computer.
so yes EVERYTHING will have to be reinstalled.
