Hello:

Does anyone know how to make Windows XP display only the recently used
the items in the start menu?
Usually Office programs come with this feature by default. When a menu
list is opened, only the recently used items are displayed. Then there
is a button at the bottom of the menu with two more (<) signs rotated
(kind of like Citroen emblem upside down).
It is a quite convenient feature and it can be enabled in XP (I saw
some people have it) but I just can't find where.

Thanks so much.
-Ilya.

You need to be using the Classic Start Menu in order to use
this feature. Try the following:

Right click an open area of the Taskbar at the bottom of the
screen and select Properties from the menu.
Click on the Start Menu Tab.
Select "Classic Start Menu" and hit the Customize button.
In the "Advanced Start Menu options" box, scroll down to the
bottom and put a check mark in the box next to "Use
personalized Menus".

Good luck
