Folks:
I made this test many times and I am sure that the problem is with the SP1 upgrade:
I have a machine with Celeron 1800, MainBoard Shuttle w/Intel 845 chipset, 128 MB, 20 GB, Video and audio on board.
When I install windows XP, it works perfect, but when I install the SP1 upgrade, the start sequence loses about 10 minutes in the "black with a bottom white scan bar" screen ( a very looww sweeping, indeed), then continue to welcome screen and finally start windows as usual.
I reinstalled (over the existent windows XP), from the CD (loosing the SP1 upgrade) and then it start perfect.
When I upgrade again with SP1, the problem returned again. (!?!)
OH MY GOD, I HAVE A "NO LiKE SP1" MACHINE !!! (Why me?)
To test my Win XP CD and my SP1 downloaded software, I reinstalled they on other machine an they worked OK.
Please can anybody tell me what it is happening? What thing may be the problem? and How I can fix this?
Or, I will use my Window, but to throw the machine across it.
Thanks,
Victor
