Windows XP Shuts down and Reboots itself

I ran into a interesting problem the other day with some
of my clients PC running XP Pro. PC's seem to randomly
reboot. The event log yeilded no answers as to what
happend and users were vague as to what they were doing
at the time it happened. Ran a virus scan in safe mode
and it came up clean. Last updates done a week or so
ago. Now just had it happen twice on my home PC. Only
thing I can see that I was doing when it happend both
times was that I was in IE and closing it. Close command
line confusion maybe??? Anyone else have this happen
recently.

Had a situation like this occur recently on an Intel
board. It began happening after a recent XP update. The
computer would randomly reboot any time the computer was
experiencing heavy hard disk activity. The culprit turned
out to be Intel Application Accelerator. Removed this
from the computer and no problems whatsoever since then.

Thanks for the feedback but not running Intel nic or
processor for that matter. As far as labor intensive
disk activity goes, was just closing IE from a low
graphics web page and only items running were just the
norm. System is running 2GHz AMD and 2gigs of DDR Ram
and just defraged the HD a week ago. You may be correct
about the last update since it was an IE security patch.
Just talk to another bud of mine who just started
experinencing the same problem a few days ago.
Looks like we may have a bug with the last IE patch. I
will do a bit more checking and post here if I find
anything new.
