windows xp setup

I turn off my pc and when i turned it back on it was booting as normal, but
then the windoows set up screen came on and Said that SETUP WAS RESTARTING,
now the pc continues to reboot itself. Plese help!!!
 
If the cd is not in there, debbie let me know as i just fixed 2 of these
problems i was stuck in a loop for over a week until i found the answer!!
hope all goes well

I tried that, but the same thing happens. There's an error that comes up and
reads *Insufficiant Resources available to finish appl.* then the same screen
appears again and say setup is restarting. It's like XP setup is stuck!!!
 
Debbie, remove the CD. During next startup tap F8 repeatedly until you
get a Menu. Select Safe Mode from the Menu.
If WinXP loads in safe mode then go to Start>All
Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Restore. Try restoring
back a few days or more.
