I read recently about an update to the built in wireless
client for Service Pack 2.Our network is secured with
multiple WEP & and ACL implemented in our access points.
When implementing WEP,I'd like to be able to enter all
four WEP keys. The current client does not seem to support
this. If I have WEP set for the first key and change to
lets say key #2 and enter the 2nd key, apparently the the
first key is overwritten with the second key. 3rd party
driver wireless providers for Win2k & Win CE have all four
keys displayed (secured of course) so one can select which
key to use.
Microsoft's current WEP Key implementation for XP XP Pro
does not allow for roaming between access points.Third
party 802.11 drivers written for other MS Operating
systems (Win2k & WinCE) do. Is microsoft planning to
update their implementation of WEP & provide similar
functionality as third party vendors have demonstrated?
