i have restored my operating system through recovery disc. when i downloaded
windows xp service pack 2 through windows update site my computer was
"corrupted"? i mean after startup, on my deskstop i cannot see any icons nor
status bar or task bar on my deskstop, just the destop background. i could
not even get get my mouse working and my cd or dvd rom is not working either.

please help!

This same thing happens to me on one of my accounts, but it only
happens when the application explorer.exe is frozen. Why, and what can
I do to stop this from happening frequently? This doesn't happen on my
other account.
