Windows XP Service Pack 2 (with incremental builds)

Hi

I am required to get Beta Build releases from Microsoft ( particularly, Win XP Service Pack 2 beta incremental build-latest now is build 2126).

Learning from various forums in the net, I found that Windows XP service Pack 2 build XXXX is available for download from Microsoft Beta website (http://www.windowsbeta.microsoft.com) for beta Testers. However another beta website from Microsoft (beta.microsoft.com) also states that beta tester can get beta releases from the website. However, becoming a beta tester is by approval only and I can't wait

Therefore, does anyone know how can I get the release of ‘Windows XP Service Pack 2 with the incremental builds’ (now is build 2126)

Appreciate your help. Thanks a lot

Why can't you wait?

It's the "I am required to get Beta Build releases from Microsoft" line that
makes me wonder. How can one be REQUIRED to get something that one has not
been approved to receive?

Hi,

"becoming a beta tester is by approval only and I can't wait...."

Sorry, but you don't have a choice. Even an application to the beta program
will not get you in at this late date of the SP2 beta. The interim releases
are only available to those in the program. For future reference, apply to
the beta program by sending an email it (e-mail address removed), you will get
an email with further instructions. Application does not guarantee
acceptance, nor do you always get in every program you want to.

You don't. You should not be using SP2 installation on any machine that
important work is dependent on. It is for test and evaluation at this
stage.

No, but no production machine should have any beta installations on it. A
major rule of beta testing is to not install it on a production machine, as
sometimes things don't go as planned, and a format may be the only way out.

Why alex. Is sp2 rc2 worse than sp2 rc1?

There is no RC2 as yet. Any interim builds that may leak are checking
specific points, and may in other respects be not as good as earlier
one. And the point is that until there is a final build, no one should
be taking any risks with any important work.
