windows XP security center

When I go to the security center in the control panel it says,,,,The security
center is unavailable because the "security center"service has not started or
was stopped.Please close this window,restart the computer (or start the
"security center" service) and then open the security center again.,,,,,I
have restarted the computer many times with no luck,,,any help would be
great,,,Thanks

Did you start the service?

Start\Control Panel\Administrative Tools\Services\Scroll down to Security
Center\Double Click\Service status - Click on Start

If tht solved the problem , you may need to repeat the steps o make sure the
service starts on bootup. just right click the service click properties, then
on startup type, change to automatic.
