Windows XP Recovery Console

I have installed Windows XP with all the service upgrades, service packs,
security patches, etc. I was reading about the Recovery Console at PC
Magzine and decided to install it. I put in my installation disc, found the
file, and tried to run it. I received a message stating that the version on
my hard drive was newer than the version on the CD. I did a search on the CD
for "cmdcons" and found nothing. I then tried the help and support that XP
installs. I read that information which basically told me that the Recovery
Console has to be installed right after I had installed XP. Is there a way
to install the Recovery Console since I have already installed all the
patches Microsoft has issued without having to basically reinstall XP?

Thanks ahead of time to anyone who can help me with this problem!

All service upgrades means you installed XP SP2. The error you're getting
means the CD is either XP or XP w/SP1. Since you have SP2 on your system
that's why you get the newer version message.

What you do is slipstream the XP CD with the SP2 download, burn a new CD
(which will now be an XP w/SP2 CD) and then make the Recovery Console.

Do a Google search on AutoStreamer and download version 1.0.33 - it will
make it easier to perform the slipstream.
